Welcome to my Studio

I have been teaching students of all ages for a long time. My teaching is nurturing and individualized to the interests of the students. Do you have a preference for classical, popular tunes, or jazz? You are welcome in my studio. Does your child enjoy singing and listening to music? Piano lessons will put them on a path of achievement for life. Good work habits, persistence, mindful self-improvement, creativity and problem-solving are all nurtured through learning how to play the piano. We dream, imagine, tell stories, and express emotions.

I hold a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and Master of Music in Music Education. I completed graduate level Music Therapy study at the University of Kansas with clinical practice teaching students with special needs. I am certified to prepare students for the Royal Conservatory of Music exams. I enjoy using technology in my studio to enhance learning. The musical journey is yours to map and I’ll go with you.

I thrive on networking with musicians. I’m an active member in LAMTA ( Lawrence Accredited Music Teachers Association,) Kansas City Music Teachers Association, Music Teachers National Association, Kansas Federation of Music Clubs which hosts the pre-college Music Festival in Lawrence, The Frances Clark Center for Keyboard Pedagogy, Sigma Alpha Iota music fraternity, International Professional Pianists Association (IPPA), and the NONOSO Washburn University Honorary Society. I was recently honored as a Kawai Medallion Educator. I perform as soloist, accompanist and church musician. My favorite thing is to organize music events for my students. I garden, read, travel, and attend a lot of performances.
